Join BODY POLITIC for the first installment of our new dinner series "Beating Burnout," an intimate event series dedicated to exploring, addressing, and offering relief from the issues brought on by social and professional burnout.
We'll start with a 40 minute reiki and meditation workshop led by Mimi Chiahemen, a trauma-informed yoga teacher, reiki practitioner, and creator of the monthly heart-chakra focused yoga and meditation series, Heartheal. Mimi will help us center ourselves through mindfulness practices that we can take with us after the event to help make more mindful choices - one of the first steps toward true self-care and managing burnout.
After the workshop, we'll head to the roof for wine and a seated catered vegan dinner. During dinner, we'll hear from Charlene Rymsha, millennial burnout expert, on what burnout is and how we can address it. Charlene will lead us through some exercises, where we'll each have the chance to examine our own social and professional lives - what's serving us, and what isn't - and leave with actionable steps for eliminating burnout from our lives, beyond the event.
This event will be capped at 20 people, and is open to women, GNC and/or Trans folks, as we are invested in creating an intimate, safe space to delve deeply into this personal subject, build community from the ground up, and maybe even make some new friends!
This event is in partnership with the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan.
